Therapy for Couples
Relationships with a significant other can be such a meaningful and rewarding part of our lives. Optimally, we want to feel supported, held, understood, and loved by our partners. Often our past experiences, stories, and emotional triggers can get us stuck in a relationship. Couples get gridlocked in ways of relating and behaving that can be destructive and unhealthy. These patterns eventually lead to a divide and make it hard to work through things together. It is my goal in couples therapy to unblock these dynamics and help couples to understand themselves and their partner.
In couples therapy you will:
- Improve communication and listening skills
- Learn to see your partner for who he or she is
- Identify your own patterns that block you from intimacy and connection
- Explore ways in which you can continue to support one another
- Cultivate compassion and mindfulness in your relationship
Please, contact me for a free consultation. I provide couples therapy in person and via video-conferencing.
